My Niche Story

More recently I have focused my practice and specialty on perinatal mental health, parenting mental health and pregnancy/birth related trauma. After experiencing a traumatic birth and loss in 2019, I struggled, my husband struggled, and our families struggled with not knowing how best to support us. At the time therapy provide a place of healing for me. I experienced it not simply as a therapist but as a human. I want to be able to support others because I’ve been there. As an EMDR training clinician working towards certification I strive to deepen my knowledge in modalities to better assist clients I work with. Fast forward 2020, I attend a conference hosted by PSI and participate in an advanced training, pass the certification exam and become a certified perinatal mental health professional treating perinatal anxiety and mood disorders and more.

Additionally, I am equally as passionate about parenting mental health because I am a parent, after experiencing loss and I understand. I’m currently a mom to my spunky 3-year-old daughter and 3 month old son. Being a parent I experience firsthand the importance of my mental health as a parent but also as a model for my daughter on emotional management and mental health skills. She is learning from me, my husband and our family. I have to be continuously working on myself to be able to assist and provide effective mental health skill building and development to my children. Which is why I am as passionate and dedicated to providing quality, authentic psychotherapy therapy services with individualized techniques centered around parenthood and child development.
